Irreconcilable differences

It seems the sponsor of Tennessee's constitutional marriage protection amendment, Sen. Jeff Miller (R-Cleveland, TN), stands accused of "inappropriate marital conduct." Cheating on his wife of 15 years is I guess the particular kind of marital conduct she finds inappropriate. Bummer for the guy who has made such a big --and public -- deal out of the sanctity of marriage. His estranged wife, Bridgitte Suzanne Miller, said as much in the Chattanooga Times Free Press (sorry, subscription-only, no link; here's the AP story in The Advocate). But here's my favorite part:

"The Tennessee senate approved Miller's marriage protection amendment February 22. In addition to defining marriage as "the historical institutional and legal contract solemnizing the relationship of one man and one woman," it would also forbid state recognition of same-sex marriages. Miller stopped an attempt to include a constitutional ban on adultery in the amendment."

Miller, who is representing himself in the divorce case, puts it all down to "irreconcilable differences," and denies any inappropriate marital conduct.
