Extinction is forever

Photo (c) WWF/Fritz Polking - Click photo to learn more at wwf.org.au/ourwork/species/albatross/Prince Charles has said he believes the world has a duty to save the endangered albatross from extinction. No, really. I mean, it's not that I'm in any way opposed to saving an endangered species.

I agree totally with Prince Charles in fact that it is "our duty to ensure that we do not lose any species if we possibly can help it." Even if it's one that is used figuratively to mean "a source or mark of misfortune, guilt, etc., from which one cannot (easily) be free; a burden or encumbrance. Cf. millstone 2a."*

Oh the irony of not saving the Albatross. Then we'll all have to wear one around our necks and hope we don't freeze/starve to death after so long...wait a minute...
