Holga pics

vintage car at old shell stationAs long as I'm on the subject of bad habits learned from other bloggers, I guess it would be a good time to post a couple of photos from the Holga. I got them back from the processor a couple of weeks ago already, but I was having some problems getting my new scanner to work.

Anyway, this one is a 1960s Mercury Marauder in front of a 1930s-era Shell station. You can't see it very well in this picture, but click on the link to get a better look. It's awfully cool looking. The online guide to offbeat tourist attractions, roadsideamerica.com, describes the station as a "radiant symbol of a bygone era, when fossil fuel seemed happily inexhaustible." Those were the days, eh? I think this car evokes those days pretty effectively as well. Beautiful in its way, and very shiny, but definitely a relic.

clothes on the lineI took this one of some laundry on the clothesline behind my house. The plastic Holga lens distorts the perspective in an odd way, and I find this picture fairly ominous. Plus it looks so bleak, and it was a pretty bright sunny day. Maybe it's just freaking me out on account of all the looming bras -- I first heard about the Holga cameras from Twisty Faster, who is, incidentally, now back at home, symmetrical in her boobularity once again.

Goddamn fucking cancer. Goddamn fucking BRCA2 gene.

How much roughly will a Holga cost me? I want to have a go-on before I start asking around for one.

And: can you link me to your e-bay lingerie page. I swear e-bay defeats me and leaves me in such a miserable mood. I'm topped right up there now with that, the temp being 32 degrees.

I paid about 30 bucks, including shipping for the fancy model with built-in flash shipped direct from hongkong. I got it on ebay, which is the only place I ever shop any more. I'm at work and I don't want to be seen looking up lingerie & camera gear on ebay, so I will post the links a bit later, after my colleagues are gone. You can email me (alpha - AT- alphabitch -DOT- org) if you want me to reply directly so you don't have to keep checking back here.

Enjoyed your Holga posts, which led to this meditation on Holgatude .
