Shoeblogging: you gotta start young

I think this picture is from the summer of 1967, but I'm not 100% sure. In any case, it is me, in a pair of my mother's shoes.

Look like your grandmother had little feet.

S'ieuz

I remember being at a restaurant once, and my ex's brother's daughter, at that time maybe three or four years old, observed politely that no one had given her a menu.

The waitress, clearly a patient and kindly person, found one for her, and she examined it with obvious satisfaction -- I don't think she could read yet. But you could see, as each person was asked in turn what they would like, that she was Getting Ready.

Came her turn: "And what would *you* like?"

This is what she said.

"I would like to wear my mommy's s'ieuz."

I asked my mom; those shoes were size 4!!! My enormous feet were a family joke (though you can see I was a pretty regular sized kid).

Your enormous feet? Cripes. You and I have the same size feet, as I recall, and my itty bitty feet were a family joke.
