Hollow victory

Not really much of a victory at all, though, for a group of people who are profoundly affected by workplace discrimination: transpeople.

The Employment Non Discrimination Act (ENDA) passed, apparently. Without the language that included protection from workplace discrimination for an individual's "real or perceived gender," which was the only remaining language in the watered-down bill that could be said to almost explicitly protect people who are transsexual.

More at Pam's House Blend.

I have lots more to say about this because it really toasts my tits.

At the moment, however, I gotta go. Ruby just stole my breakfast off the counter and I have an appointment with the psychoneuroatriologist. Sleep disorder doc. Whatever he's called.

I still have such problems understanding why anyone worries what gender anyone else has. Seriously, what difference does it/should it make?

And when you ask the concerned a question like this, they don't understand why you're asking. Or so I've experienced.
